Our Processes
At ASH we operate a bespoke, washing, recycling and recovery plant. We supply quality products and will not compromise our standards.
From waste disposal to the purchase of quality recycled washed aggregates. Our finished products are washed, eco-friendly and can be used for in numerous applications. They are a sustainable alternative to virgin aggregates which are being quarried throughout the country without regard to the negative impact this is having on the planet. The use of our materials will help reduce your projects carbon footprint whilst also offering cost effective construction solutions. We can offer solutions to all your waste disposal needs whilst also offering a quality recycled washed and certified aggregate. We provide a one stop solution to your disposal and aggregate needs.

STEP 1
Material arrives on site in a range of vehicle sizes and types before being transported to the hopper of the Primary Screen.
Capable of processing
200 Tonnes per hour
Permitted to process 650,000 Tonnes per year
Negates the quarrying of virgin aggregates, building
a more sustainable construction sector
OUR PROCESS
STEP 2
The Primary screen rejects all oversized material greater than 100mm such as boulders, concrete and timber.
Capable of processing
200 Tonnes per hour
Permitted to process 650,000 Tonnes per year
Negates the quarrying of virgin aggregates, building
a more sustainable construction sector
OUR PROCESS
STEP 3
The screened 100mm material then passes up the feed belt to the main plant where it is fed into the initial rinser.
Capable of processing
200 Tonnes per hour
Permitted to process 650,000 Tonnes per year
Negates the quarrying of virgin aggregates, building
a more sustainable construction sector
OUR PROCESS
STEP 4
A powerful Over-Band Magnet is used to capture smaller metal fragments which may have passed through the Primary Screen.
Capable of processing
200 Tonnes per hour
Permitted to process 650,000 Tonnes per year
Negates the quarrying of virgin aggregates, building
a more sustainable construction sector
OUR PROCESS
STEP 5
The material is rinsed and the sand fraction is diverted to the sand plant. The aggregate then passes into a log washer where it is cleaned and scrubbed.
Capable of processing
200 Tonnes per hour
Permitted to process 650,000 Tonnes per year
Negates the quarrying of virgin aggregates, building
a more sustainable construction sector
OUR PROCESS
STEP 6
The washed aggregate is then screened and graded, and any oversized aggregate is then recirculated back into crusher where it is broken down and returned back into the process.
Capable of processing
200 Tonnes per hour
Permitted to process 650,000 Tonnes per year
Negates the quarrying of virgin aggregates, building
a more sustainable construction sector
OUR PROCESS
STEP 7
The 4-40mm aggregate after being washed is then screened and sorted into the respective product sizes 40-10mm, 10-20mm, 20-40mm prior to storing them in designated bays.
Capable of processing
200 Tonnes per hour
Permitted to process 650,000 Tonnes per year
Negates the quarrying of virgin aggregates, building
a more sustainable construction sector
OUR PROCESS
STEP 8
All material below 4mm is diverted to the sand plant where is is separated into two grades using a cyclone separation method. 0-2mm soft sand / 0-4mm grit/concreting sand.
Capable of processing
200 Tonnes per hour
Permitted to process 650,000 Tonnes per year
Negates the quarrying of virgin aggregates, building
a more sustainable construction sector
OUR PROCESS
STEP 9
The remaining water stream containing the silt and clay is pumped to the water treatment where flocculant is added to treat the water and accelerate the settlement of the solids.
Capable of processing
200 Tonnes per hour
Permitted to process 650,000 Tonnes per year
Negates the quarrying of virgin aggregates, building
a more sustainable construction sector
OUR PROCESS
STEP 10
The thickened sludge is treated with lime and pumped to a holding tank prior to being pumped into the plate press where it is treated and the water is extracted. The resultant pressed material produces a high quality non permeable clay.
Capable of processing
200 Tonnes per hour
Permitted to process 650,000 Tonnes per year
Negates the quarrying of virgin aggregates, building
a more sustainable construction sector
OUR PROCESS
STEP 11
The water after passing through the water treatment plant is then pumped back into holding tanks for reuse throughout the washing cycle process.
Capable of processing
200 Tonnes per hour
Permitted to process 650,000 Tonnes per year
Negates the quarrying of virgin aggregates, building
a more sustainable construction sector
